Cigar Box 23 & 24 - Nested Owls

I found this really cute paper in Las Vegas (I don't remember the shop).  The brand is "ADORNit Carolees Creations" and the paper is called "Nested Owls Coral."

I didn't know which cigar box in my stash it would go with, but I knew I'd figure out something. Turns out I had this large black and red box just sitting there waiting for this paper!

On the large box, I colored the brass portion of the knob with my black Copic marker - my friends said it could be done and they were right! I added some bling on the inside and a few adhesive rhinestones on the top and inside.

And....I had enough leftover paper to do a smaller box.  The photos truly don't do them justice.

Cigar Box 22 - Baltimore Ravens

Nothing to do on rainy day but make an altered cigar box I've been putting off since last football season :)

The custom Ravens designer paper was obtained from Photo Scraps in Eldersburg, MD.

Cigar Box 21 - Kiss a Frog

"You have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your handsome prince" is a popular phrase related to the Brothers Grimm’s fairy tale “The Frog Prince” used to encourage those who still seek true love.

This past Christmas, a good friend gave me an adorable frog prince ornament that had a very special meaning - I had finally found my prince a few months earlier :)

Sometime later, I ran across DCWV's "The Once Upon a Time Stack" at one of the local craft stores, and I spotted the frog prince page and coordinating pages.  Need I say more?

So.......

Once upon a time, Angie made a Kiss-a-Frog altered cigar box to match her Frog Prince Christmas ornament.  The Frog Prince is on the outside of the box, and the inside of the box says "Kiss a Frog" and "There lived a handsome Prince."  Angie and her Prince thereafter lived happily ever after.  The End.

(That's my story and I'm sticking to it...)

More Butterflies and Paint Chips

I seem to be on a butterfly kick at the moment.  They work so well with the paint chips :)

For this card, I went a little crazy and first punched 3 butterflies (Stampin' Up!) out of cork and adhered them flat.  Then, I punched 1 butterfly out of each color on the paint chip sample (this sample only had 3 colors), adhered with a glue dot in the center, added bling, then folded out the wings a little bit.

Sentiment is called Butterfly Greeting by DRS Designs.
Embossing Folder is called Lady Bug by Craft Concepts.

Paint Chips and Butterfly Punch

Inspired by Pinterest!

The original card that inspired me can be found on the following blog - along with a tutorial: Simply Creative.  However, the original was not made with paint chips....that was my idea :)  The embossing folder used is Flowering Spring by Nellie Snellen.

The possibilities and color combinations are almost endless!  You're on your way to Lowes or Home Depot, aren't you...ha!

Giggles & Grins

Scrap & Stamp Arts
April 2013, Pages 27 and 29

SSA put out a call for funny card ideas for their Giggles & Grin feature.

This was right up my alley!

"100% Pure Bull" features stamps by Make An Impression and designer paper by Die Cuts With a View.

Money CAN Buy Happiness features image stamp by Inky Antics and sentiment stamp by DRS Designs and reads:

Money can't buy happiness - of course, it does buy rubber stamps, and rubber stamps make people happy, so money CAN buy happiness (if you do it right!)

So true...
